Usually, yes. A one-piece gutter runs the full length of the wall with no joints along the way, and joints are where most gutter leaks start. Sectional gutters snap together every few feet, and each of those seams can open up over time.
Most houses get K-style gutters, which have a flat back and a shaped front. We also install half round and box gutters, plus copper. Half round and copper suit older homes and houses where the look matters most.

They can. Without gutters, roof water falls straight down beside the house and soaks the soil against the foundation. Over time that shows up as washed out soil and water damage, so we use downspouts and underground drains to carry it out into the yard.
Often, yes. Leaking corners and loose hangers can usually be fixed on the gutters you already have. If the runs are corroded through or the fascia is rotten, a repair will not hold. We will tell you that at the estimate.
