Commercial roofs send more water to each gutter
A flat or low slope commercial roof can gather rain off a big area and send all of it to one edge. The gutter on that edge carries far more water than a gutter on a house, so commercial buildings often need box gutters and larger downspouts.
When that gutter is too small, the overflow runs down the wall and lands on the walkway by the door. Over time it stains the building and works its way into the wall.

Usually, yes. A one-piece gutter runs the full length of the wall with no joints along the way, and joints are where most gutter leaks start. Sectional gutters snap together every few feet, and each of those seams can open up over time.
Most houses get K-style gutters, which have a flat back and a shaped front. We also install half round and box gutters, plus copper. Half round and copper suit older homes and houses where the look matters most.
